Ali Mohammadi obtained his B. and M. in Aerospace Engineering from Tehran Polytechnic, Iran. Currently, writing tutor, he is pursuing his PhD studies in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Calgary. Ali has a background writing tutor supporting students with research papers, proposals, writing tutor, and theses, as well as the APA and IEEE citation styles.
In his free time, Ali enjoys biking, hiking, and volunteering with different organizations. Petra McDougall is a Ph. Candidate in Biological Sciences at the University of Calgary.
Petra has been with the Student Success Centre Writing Support Services since and enjoys science writing and communicating research to diverse audiences. Her background includes being published in peer-reviewed journals, along with writing several articles in popular science online magazines, proposal writing, and she also relishes a good conversation about readability. Outside of writing, Petra enjoys spending time in the outdoors and with animals, alongside her spouse and children, particularly through activities like dog mushing, Nordic skiing, horseback riding, camping, canoeing, rock climbing, snowboarding, and bird watching.
Kathleen McWilliams has a BA Hons in Communication Studies and writing tutor MA in Culture and Society. Kathleen is from Calgary and enjoys spending time with family, exploring the Arts and popular culture, and travelling in her spare time to learn about other cultures. Spencer Brown holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence JD from the University of Houston Law Center, and he is currently a Juris Doctor JD Candidate at the University of Calgary, writing tutor.
Prior to his law degree, Spencer earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting, operations and supply chain management, and information systems. Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Spencer enjoys hiking, reading presidential biographies, and learning languages.
Ralph Pollock holds a Master of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Calgary, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. He is experienced in writing tutor support for both graduate and undergraduate students in most academic disciplines, especially in the sciences and engineering. In addition to philosophy, Ralph has a strong interest in the natural sciences, digital technology, and world history.
Donna-Lee Wybert has been working with students through the Student Success Writing Support Services for over 10 years. She is passionate about great writing, and loves sharing this with students and supporting them with their particular writing goals. She has three disparate degrees in the social sciences and humanities, so she would say that is her zone of speciality, but she happily engages with and supports writers across the wide spectrum of academic disciplines.
Lidia holds a Bachelor writing tutor Arts in English and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Calgary. In her role as a Writing Tutor, she often supports students with writing from Social Sciences, Humanities, writing tutor, Business, and other disciplines. Other areas of specialization include APA, writing tutor, MLA, and Chicago citation styles. Outside of her work, Lidia enjoys baking, making sweets, gardening, and throwing pottery.
Samridhi Idhi Rijal holds double Master of Science degrees in Ecology from University of Calgary and Natural Resource Management from AIT, Bangkok, writing tutor. She is experienced in supporting students from Biology, Social Work, Psychology, Education, Nursing and Geology fields and is comfortable with APA and CSE citation styles, writing tutor. Idhi is originally from Nepal, and writing tutor studied and worked in numerous countries, such as Thailand, Cambodia, and Switzerland before landing in Canada.
